TownSquare is a non-partisan tool designed to help users explore a broader range of perspectives on online content. We are committed to protecting your privacy and limiting data collection to what is necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the service.

We collect only the information reasonably necessary to operate TownSquare.
1.1 Content You Choose to Analyse
When you use TownSquare to generate insights, we may process:
the text from the webpage or content you ask TownSquare to analyse
the URL of the relevant page
any prompt, query, or input you submit through the product
We use this information to generate the requested insights, provide context-specific responses, and improve the quality and performance of the service.
1.2 Account Information
If you create an account, we may collect:
your name
your email address
We use this information to create and manage your account, verify your identity, and provide access to TownSquare features.
1.3 Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase a paid subscription, subscription management is handled through RevenueCat. We may receive information such as your subscription status, entitlement level, and transaction-related identifiers necessary to manage access to paid features.
We do not store your full payment card details ourselves.
1.4 Product Usage Information
We may collect limited information about how you use TownSquare, such as:
which features you use
the prompts you submit
the responses generated
the links or perspectives you click on
feedback or usefulness ratings you provide
We use this information to operate, maintain, and improve TownSquare, including to better understand how users engage with different viewpoints and, in future, potentially to provide users with insights into their overall information consumption patterns.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
TownSquare does not intentionally collect the following categories of information unless they are directly included in content you choose to submit for analysis:
full payment card information
passwords or other authentication credentials beyond what is required for secure sign-in
private personal communications not submitted by you to the service
precise location data
keystroke logging
mouse movement tracking
unrelated browsing history outside the content you actively choose to analyse

We may use the information we collect to:
provide TownSquare’s core functionality
generate alternative viewpoints and contextual insights
rank, organise, and return different perspectives
create and manage user accounts
administer subscriptions and usage limits
improve product quality, reliability, and safety
understand aggregate usage patterns and develop future features
4. How Your Information Is Processed
To provide the service, relevant content data, prompts, and account-linked usage information may be transmitted securely to our backend systems and service providers for processing.
This may include:
Firebase, for authentication, database, and related infrastructure services
RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management
Gemini, for generating AI-powered outputs and insights
Some information may be processed transiently, while other information, such as account details, prompts, responses, clicks, and usage records, may be retained where reasonably necessary to operate the service, enforce tier limits, improve the product, maintain security, or support future features.
We aim to keep retained data to a minimum and only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.
We may share information only with service providers who help us operate TownSquare, including:
Google Firebase, for authentication, hosting, and database functions
RevenueCat, for subscription management
Google Gemini, for AI processing and response generation
These providers may process data on our behalf only to the extent necessary to provide their services to us.
We may also disclose information where required by law, regulation, legal process, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of TownSquare, our users, or others.
6. Local Storage
TownSquare may store limited information locally on your device, such as:

temporary interface state
feedback or usefulness ratings
This information is used to support product functionality and improve the user experience.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
TownSquare may use cookies or similar technologies where necessary to operate the service, maintain sessions, improve reliability, or support authentication. We do not use cookies for third-party advertising.

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and industry-standard safeguards designed to reduce the risk of unauthorised access, disclosure, or misuse.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
TownSquare is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
